Zeolite crystals offering a short diffusion pathway through the pore network are highly desired for number of catalytic and molecule separation applications. Herein, we develop simple synthetic strategy toward reducing thickness along b-axis MFI-type crystals, thus providing path straight channel. Our approach combines preliminary aging fluoride-assisted low-temperature crystallization. The synthesized MFI in micrometer-size range a- c-axis, while is few tens nanometers. synthesis parameters controlling formation platelike zeolite studied, factors growth identified. works equally well with all-silica (silicalite-1) its Al- Ga-containing derivatives. activity ZSM-5 methanol-to-hydrocarbons (MTH) reaction compared commercial nanosized sample, as exhibits substantially extended lifetime. successfully scaled up to kilogram scale.
